Explore the Early Immigrant Gold Rush Route/Experienced the Indigenous Culture

 At the end of the midsummer, the Fraser Volunteer Association in Canada proposes to the Chinese community to use self-driving travel to physically appreciate the beautiful scenery of the inland area of BC province, to journey through the unique old immigrant gold rush route with their hearts, and to experience the journey of indigenous culture.

Self-driving tour follows the early immigrants' gold rush route

自驾游路线沿着先侨的淘金之路

First, you can visit the Chinese Memorial in the small town of Lytton along Highway 1, further understand the working and living conditions of Chinese predecessors during the period of railway construction, and appreciate the dedication of our ancestors for the establishment of Canada.

首先可以去参观一号公路沿途的Lytton小镇的华人纪念馆,进一步了解华人前辈当年修铁路时期的工作和生活状态,感受先辈华工为加拿大建国的奉献。

Then, follow Highway 97 to the north of BC province to the old town of Barkerville, recall the prosperity of Chinatown in the largest gold-rush town in the north of BC province, which was as famous as San Francisco's Chinatown in the gold rush era. Here, the struggle history of Chinese predecessors in local gold mining is completely preserved and recorded.

而后沿着通往BC省北部的九十七号高速公路前往巴克维尔古镇,追忆淘时代与旧金山唐人街齐名,BC省北部最大规模淘金小镇上唐人街当年的繁荣,这里完整的保留和记录着华侨先辈在当地的淘金奋斗史.

Next, on August 19-20, 2023, the eighth Barkerville Indigenous Day Celebration, appreciate the grand celebration of the indigenous people, participate in indigenous celebrations, experience the culture of the indigenous people in the north of BC province, and enjoy the traditional songs and dances of the indigenous people and their uniquely styled handicrafts.

接下来,2023年8月19~20日,第八届巴克维尔原住民庆典日,欣赏原住民盛大的庆祝活动,参加原住民庆祝活动,体验BC省北部原住民文化,欣赏原住民的传统歌舞和风格独特的手工艺品

Along the way, you can also visit the Kamloops Indian Residential School. In the towns of William Lake and Quesnel, visit museums that showcase the history of northern development, to further understand the explorers' journey and the cowboy-style living conditions at that time, as well as the history blended with indigenous culture.

The Fraser Volunteer Association in Canada has prepared self-driving tour commemorative stickers, route tips, and interacted with everyone at the event destination Barkerville and the indigenous event site.

加拿大菲莎义工协会为自驾游的伙伴们准备有自驾游纪念贴纸,线路提示,在活动目的地巴克维尔和原住民活动现场,与大家一起互动。
